Fillman Law Offices was established by Gordon Fillman in 1958 after he retired from active service as a legal officer for the United States Navy. He served for more than 40 years as the counsel for Perennial Public Power and on many public boards and committees. Gordon Fillman has now retired from Fillman Law Offices.
Steven Fillman joined the firm in 1997 after serving for four years on active duty in the Navy JAG corps. He served as a Navy prosecutor and also handled hundreds of federal criminal appeals in Washington D.C. as a defense counsel in the JAG Corps.
Since returning to his hometown of York, Nebraska in 1997, Steven has been practicing transactional law as well as criminal and civil litigation. He handles cases ranging from estate planning to wills, trusts, probate and real estate to family law, divorce, child custody, personal injury, and landlord-tenant cases.
Elizabeth Fillman joined the firm in 2024 after five years working at law firms on the East Coast in both New York and Washington, D.C. Elizabeth attended Harvard Law School, and is proud to have returned to York to join the firm founded by her grandfather, Gordon Fillman, and to practice alongside her father, Steven Fillman.
Elizabeth has a broad range of expertise, and can assist with criminal defense cases, family law matters (including child custody cases, divorces, and protection orders), wills, trusts, and probate, real estate matters, transactional and business law matters (including formation of entities, transfers of ownership and general advising), contract drafting and disputes, personal injury cases, and landlord-tenant matters. Elizabeth is licensed to practice law in Nebraska, New York, and Washington, D.C.
